Context
Fellow UCSD graduate student Xavier Orain came to me asking for a logo design for his medical startup Breathily.
Initially named Eir (https://www.notion.so/Eir-eb3ea9bdfe56451397bba3d7e8a3b7cd), Breathily is an AI driven lung capacity analyzer.
I helped with the startup's branding as well given his team's objective to enter a startup accelerator and get funding from investors. They needed clear and concise visual branding and a smooth name so I suggested they come up with something memorable and easily associable with the purpose of their product.

Logo Iterations
For this project, I began my sending the Breathily team a basic design direction questionnaire.
Following their feedback, I wanted the logo to represent 4 main ideas: Artificial Intelligence or Robotics, a cute friendly look, the medical field, and lungs or something related to breathing (as the company name is Breathily).
You will see the initial directions go with a Wall-E-esque look supposed to show the cute robot look. The iterations build upon that. I chose light blue as the main logo / branding colors as it is often used in the medical field and represents the product's industry. It also symbolizes health, healing and tranquility— all of which are themes / goals the product is trying to achieve.
